NEWS FROM REELPIPES.COM - November 2022

The autumn has been busy with the start of a new band season. This one is notable for me because for the first time in 30 years I am not the pipe-major of the City of Regina Pipe Band and I'm able to just work on the tunes and show up to play. I remember Colin MacLellan's excellent advice to all band members (paraphrased): Learn the music. Show up to practice. Listen. Looking forward to the launch of the 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) new season, now that P-M Alex Gandy is back from The Glenfiddich Championship with a prize in hand. I was lucky to have been in attendance at Blair Castle for this year's event, and it was a fantastic day of piping. Congratulations also to Fred Morrison and Bruce Gandy, who acquitted themselves so well at The London Scottish Piping Society event, both gaining an invitation to the 2023 Glenfiddich!
