When Neil Dickie's "First Collection" was published, it was an instant hit with solo pipers, "kitchen pipers" and pipe bands. Neil's clever and highly original compositions are supported by excellent tunes from many others. Apart from coining the phrase "kitchen piping," Neil brought fun and whimsy to solo and recital playing, and so deep have his tunes gone in the music world that now and again you see them listed as "traditional" on recordings. They are so well known and widely performed, that people no longer know where they originated. Well, some of them started here.
