Dr. Hugh Cheape, M.B.E. worked for the National Museum of Scotland for over 30 years, and in that time he curated and built the NMS's collection of bagpipes. This book describes the collection, what Cheape learned about the items, and his conclusions about the history of piping in Scotland.

This is a fascinating read, scholarly and accessible at the same time, and the book's conclusions changed a lot of what has been traditionally assumed about the history of bagpipes in Scotland, Ireland and England.

Includes a CD-ROM with  support material, photos and documents.

A NOTE TO CUSTOMERS IN THE USA

Due to recent trade decisions of the current US administration, we are suspending all orders and shipping to the USA for the time being. Tariffs of 35% on all products coming from Canada make prices unreasonable for you and shipping difficult, time consuming, and ultimately unprofitable for us. We'll keep our eye on things and get back to supplying our friends and customers in the USA as soon as we are able.
