In this short, readable and highly informative text, Dr. Hugh Cheape, M.B.E. presents the story of the bagpipes from their origins in ancient times right up to the present day. The illustrations, many of them not published before, are from his own collection.

Cheape was the curator of the bagpipe collection at the National Museum of Scotland for 30 years and is now Senior Lecturer at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, University of the Highlands and Islands on Skye.

This attractive hardback book measures just 7"x 5" and is beautifully illustrated throughout.
