Over time, bagpipes may experience wood stress from change of humidity (too dry/too damp) or breaks from an accidental drop or bump. Whether it's a plastic mount that's broken, a blowpipe or stock cracked, or a tuning pin broken, all can be repaired.
It's possible to have old pipes with multiple cracks invisibly repaired, and this would be recommended for really great old sets that deserve to be kept playing.
