"Guy Mannering or The Astrologer" was published anonomously by Scott in 1815 as the second in the Waveryley series, and it takes place in Galloway, Scotland. The book was a huge success, selling out the first edition on day one of sales.

In the late 1800s the Mershon Company of New York purchased the rights to a number of books from bankrupt publisheres, and brought out their own editions. This book was one of those.

Inscribed on the inside cover, "To Art, From Fred, On his birthday, March 13, 1904."

Hardcover, 7.25" x 5"; 430 pages.
